Dr. Faustus is a tragic exploration of ambition, knowledge, and the human soul by Christopher Marlowe. The play follows Doctor Faustus, a brilliant scholar who, dissatisfied with traditional learning, turns to dark magic in search of ultimate power. In a desperate bid for transcendence, he strikes a pact with the devil, Mephistopheles, exchanging his soul for 24 years of earthly pleasures and magical abilities.

As Faustus enjoys his newfound powers, he grapples with deep inner turmoil, torn between his desire for greatness and his fear of eternal damnation. Despite moments of regret and the temptation to repent, Faustus ultimately cannot escape his fate, and his soul is claimed by the devil.

A timeless meditation on the consequences of unchecked ambition and the struggle between good and evil, Dr. Faustus offers a compelling look at the price of defying moral and spiritual boundaries.
