Tickets sales FAQ

I would like to give somebody tickets to a performance as a present. Can I buy and pay for tickets for EDS productions in advance?

Unfortunately we have no facility for buying tickets in advance, but you can reserve tickets and collect and pay for them on the night of the performance. You can also pay for tickets and have another person collect them if you prefer.

What happens to my reserved tickets if I do not collect them on time?

If the performance is not sold out we will usually hold on to your tickets. If it is sold out and we do not know you are definitely coming, your tickets may be sold to someone else. We can only guarantee reservations until 20 minutes before the performance.

Do I need to show my order confirmation email to collect the tickets?

We do not need to see your order confirmation when you collect tickets, we just need to know the name of the person the tickets are reserved for. If the tickets have already been paid for, you may be asked to show an identity card to collect these tickets.

Do I need to show proof of eligibility in order to collect reduced price tickets?

Yes, we will ask to see proof of status for reduced price tickets. If you are collecting reduced price tickets for another person, please also bring their proof of status. We accept the following:

  • For students: university-issued student ID card, ISIC card, or an immatriculation confirmation document together with valid photo ID
  • For school pupils: school-issued pupil ID card, ID card or passport showing that you are be under 18, or other official document that shows you are currently attending school
  • For registered disabled persons*: Disability identity pass (Schwerbehindertenausweis)

*One person accompanying the registered disabled is also entitled to a reduced price ticket.

Do you accept credit and debit cards?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept credit and debit cards at the box office so tickets can only be paid for in cash.

How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation by replying to your confirmation email to let us know.

If you need to add tickets to your reservation: please place a new order via the website for the additional tickets* using the same name and email address. These will automatically be added to your existing order at the box office.

If you need fewer tickets than you have reserved, we would appreciate it if you would let us know by replying to your confirmation email.

*Please note: If you order more than 10 tickets in total for any one performance, we may need to contact you for confirmation.

How can I change the type of tickets I reserved?

As you only pay for the tickets on collection, you do not need to tell us in advance if you need to change the type of tickets (standard price / reduced price) you require.

Can I return tickets I have already purchased?

Tickets that have already been collected and paid for are non-refundable. However, they can be returned subject to the following conditions:

  1. the performance is sold out
  2. we are able to resell your ticket

In such cases we will refund the full value of the returned ticket. If we are unable to resell your ticket we will unfortunately not be able to offer you a refund, however, we would be pleased to exchange it for a ticket for another performamce of the same production.

How do I make a group booking?

You can make a booking for up to 10 people using the online reservation form. If you need to reserve more than 10 tickets for a single performance, please contact us with your request. Please note: If you wish to reserve more than 25 tickets for a single performance we may request that you to pay for these tickets in advance.

Are there any discounts for groups?

As we are entirely non-profit-making, we are unfortunately unable to offer any discounts on our regular prices for group bookings. The only exception is for teachers accompanying school groups of 11 or more pupils who are entitled to purchase tickets at the reduced rate if the tickets are ordered in advance. The discount applies to one teacher per group of between 11 and 20 pupils.

Can the members of my group collect and pay for their tickets individually?

Yes, the tickets can be collected individually, although we do prefer them to be collected together if possible. Please note: if one person pays for all the tickets but would like the members of the group to collect them themselves, we will need their names and will also need to see identification from each person before their tickets can be collected.
